WHAT IS HUMAN TRAFFICKING?  

Human trafficking occurs when a person is deceived, taken to another place inside or outside their country, and ends up being exploited for different purposes, such as sexual or labor exploitation.    

 

LEARN HOW TO IDENTIFY TRAFFICKING-RELATED SCAMS 

A. Don't trust people who offer you deals that are too good to be true.  

B. Be suspicious of job offers in other countries where someone will cover all travel-related expenses and promise to arrange visa, immigration documents or border crossings with "trusted coyotes".

C. Avoid those who promise you a very well-paid job, with no requirements, and that will change your life in a short time.

D. Do not accept romantic or relationship proposals from someone with whom you have only spoken on the phone or social networks and who promises to take you out of your country.

E. Never go for interviews or job procedures to private places that are not properly and publicly marked. 

F. A job should not ask you for costume-specific or full-body photographs. 

G. Be suspicious of job offers or leaving your country where you are asked not to tell anyone.   

 

REPORT IF YOU SEE THESE SIGNS OF TRAFFICKING

A. The person does not speak for him/herself, let his/her companion do so.

B. The person suffers verbal or psychological abuse by the person accompanying him/her.  

C. Does not have travel documents with him/her.  

D. The person is fearful, shy or submissive.

E. If the person expresses that he/she does not know what country he/she is in.  .
