Most travelers need a visitor visa to travel to Canada. You may also need one if you are passing through a Canadian airport on your way to your final destination.

You need a visitor visa (also called a temporary resident visa) which is an official document that is affixed to your passport. It proves that you meet the necessary requirements to enter Canada. It costs from $100.

You can stay up to six (6) months in Canada. Although the final amount of time will depend on the immigration officer. They must write the amount of time in your passport or give you a document called a visitor's record where you will see the final date of departure.

The process to apply for the visa is through the internet. You can apply on paper if you are unable to apply online due to a disability, or are traveling with an identity or travel document issued to a refugee, stateless person or non-citizen.
