Procedure Process

Vaccinations and Health: No mandatory vaccinations are required.

Tourist visa type "B-2" is required.   May remain in the U.S. for up to 6 months.

Documentation:

  1. Valid passport for travel to the United States - Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your period of stay in the United States (unless exempted by country-specific agreements). Each person requiring a visa must submit a separate application, including family members listed in your passport.

  2. Nonimmigrant Visa Application online, Form DS-160 Confirmation Page, here.

  3. Receipt of payment of the application fee, if you are required to pay prior to your interview. Fees - Pay the nonrefundable visa application fee, if you are required to pay it before your interview. If your visa is approved, you may also be required to pay a visa issuance fee, if applicable to your nationality.

  4. Photo - You will upload your photo while completing Form DS-160 online. If the photo upload fails, you must bring a printed photo in the format explained in the Photo Requirements.

Other additional documentation:

For example, additional requested documents may include proof of:

  • The purpose of your trip.

  • Your intention to leave the U.S. after your trip, and/or

  • Your ability to pay all travel expenses.

  • Evidence of your employment and/or family ties may be sufficient to demonstrate the purpose of your trip and your intent to return to your home country. If you are unable to cover all of your travel expenses, you may submit evidence that someone else will cover some or all of your travel expenses.

Important:

Visa applicants must qualify based on the applicant's residence and ties abroad, rather than on assurances from U.S. family and friends. It is not necessary to submit a letter of invitation or affidavit of support to apply for a visitor visa. If you choose to bring a letter of invitation or affidavit of support to your interview, remember that it is not one of the factors used to determine whether a visa is issued or denied.
