Vaccination and health: Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is only required if you have been in transit for more than 12 hours at airports in countries with a risk of yellow fever transmission.
Countries with a risk of Yellow Fever transmission, where vaccination against this disease is mandatory:
- Central America: Panama (some areas of the country are at risk of transmission).
- South America: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guyana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, Venezuela, and Paraguay.
- Africa: Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Côte d'Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Kenya, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Senegal, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Niger, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe and Togo.
- Travelers in Transit: Travelers entering Honduras who have stayed for a period of less than twelve hours in an airport or international port of a country at risk of Yellow Fever transmission, will not be required to be vaccinated against this disease, according to WHO recommendations.
No visa required.
You may stay for at least six (6) months. You can stay as a tourist for a maximum of 90 days, extendable for another 90 days by requesting an extension at the National Institute of Migration (INM) of Honduras.
Documents to present:
- A passport is valid for a minimum of six months. Minors with passports.
- Yellow fever vaccination certificate: it must be valid for 10 days prior to entry into Honduras and if the date of application does not exceed 10 years.
- Registration on the Prechequeo platform, on the internet 72 hours before for all foreigners, including transit travelers. Registration is free of charge. This must be done before traveling, here.
- In the platform, you must provide the requested information. The government of Honduras is implementing this tool to keep track of and provide information during your trip.
- At the entrance of airports or land ports fill out the "Baggage Declaration" form.
