Vaccination and health: a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate is only required if the traveler has been in transit for more than 12 hours in airports of countries with risk of Yellow Fever transmission.

Countries with risk of Yellow Fever transmission, where vaccination against this disease is mandatory:

 

  • Central America:Panama (some areas of the country are at risk of transmission).
  • South America: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guyana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, Venezuela and Paraguay.
  • Africa: Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Guinea, Guinea Bissau, Kenya, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Senegal, Somalia, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Niger, Rwanda, Sao Tome and Principe and Togo.
  • Travelers in Transit entering Honduras who have stayed for a period of less than 12 hours in an international airport or port of a country at risk of Yellow Fever transmission will not be required to be vaccinated against this disease, according to WHO recommendations.

You need consular visa: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Honduras must authorize the granting of this type of Visa. To avoid any inconvenience, the applicant must complete the process with sufficient time before the scheduled trip.


Documents to submit:

  1. Name and nationality of applicant.
  2. VCA-4 form. Download here.
  3. Copy of a legitimate and valid passport during your stay in Honduras.
  4. Indication of the purpose of the trip: tourism or business, professional activity, visiting family or friends.
  5. Notarized letter of invitation.
  6. Proof of employment, if not working, that of your spouse.
  7. roof of bank account, showing that you are a client of a bank, if not, your spouse's proof of bank account.
  8. Duration of stay in the country;
  9. Indication of the applicant's port of entry (airport or by land or sea), if applicable.
  10. Copy of your residency in the country from which you are applying for the visa, must indicate your current residency status (student, tourist, etc.).
  11. Indication of visas from other countries, which you currently hold.
  12. Two (2) passport size photographs.
  13. Contact information: mail, telephone number.
  14. Wait for a response from the government.

Any other requirement requested by the consular office, which may vary according to your case.

Additional:

  • At the Consular Office you will be indicated the bank agency where you must make the payment and you must have a copy of the proof of payment for the type of visa: 

This can be: a) Single Visa (30 days): $30.00; b) Multiple Visa (90 days): $60.00.

  • This procedure must be done in person at the Consular Section office at an embassy.
  • A designated person may also complete the application form directly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This person may be a family member or a person who has a business or commercial relationship with the applicant who wishes to travel to Honduras.

Because Haiti is not a member of the Apostille Treaty (Hague Convention, October 5, 1961), a legalization process is required for all official documents originating in Haiti to be used in Honduras.

To legalize a document, an appointment at the Honorary Consulate is required for authentication before being able to proceed to an embassy for final certification.
