Procedure Process

Vaccination and health: only if you have traveled to countries at risk of transmission, you must present the "International Certificate of Vaccination against Yellow Fever, CIV", which must be presented in original, be valid and in force. The certificate will be valid ten (10) days after the vaccine is given and will be valid for life.


Countries at risk of transmission: 

 

  • AFRICA: Angola, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Ghana, Gambia, Guinea. Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Sudan.
  • SOUTH AMERICA: Bolivia, Venezuela. Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Argentina and Guyana.
  • CENTRAL AMERICA: Panama


No visa is required. It requires a Tourist Card that can be obtained at the border points of entry to the country, and has a cost of USD$12.00.


You can stay up to ninety (90) days. In case you want to extend your days in the country you may do so by going to the General Directorate of Migration and Foreigners of El Salvador and submit the requirements you will find here.


Documents to present:

  1. Valid Passport with a minimum of six (6) months.
  2. Make the payment of the Tourist Card $12.
  3. Economic solvency.
  4. Round trip ticket.
