What procedures and services can I perform in the Department of Attention to Migrant Persons of the PDDH?

  • Provide attention to people in vulnerable conditions due to their migratory situation;
  • Supports the different instances of the Protection system in the processing of files or proceedings on migrants in vulnerable conditions;
  • To permanently follow up on the situation of the victims of human rights violations due to their migratory status; as well as the cases opened at the national level on the subject for the implementation of relevant actions;
  • Promote actions for the protection of the human rights of Salvadoran migrants abroad and foreigners in the national territory;
  • Custody and update the Forensic Data Bank of Unlocated Migrants and document the legal processes of collection and unification of the forensic information collected through the relatives of the donors. Likewise, to promote the necessary protection and assistance actions to guarantee the rights of unlocated migrants and their families;
  • Propose actions to promote and develop communication and cooperation links with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations for the promotion and defense of human rights, both national and international, in order to establish mechanisms or networks of action that allow for the expansion of the protection, promotion and defense of the human rights of migrants and their families;
  • To subscribe pronouncements by delegation of the Attorney General and other institutional communications that may be submitted to him/her in accordance with his/her competencies;
  • Any other duties assigned by the specific Deputy Prosecutor for the matter, the Deputy Prosecutor and the Prosecutor.
