During the next six months, Venezuelans will be able to use their expired passports in the Republic of Panama as a valid personal identity document to carry out any type of immigration, labor, tax, educational, commercial and driver's license procedures.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security announced that the United States Department of State will begin funding a safe and effective repatriation program, including the review of cases requiring protection for migrants in irregular status in the region.

Costa Rican and Panamanian government authorities created a Humanitarian Corridor to transport migrants in a safe, orderly and humane manner from the Temporary Migrant Reception Stations (ETRM) in Panama to the Temporary Attention Center for Migrants (CATEM) in the southern part of Costa Rica.
