No visa is required

You can stay in Costa Rica for a maximum of 180 calendar days, non-extendable.

Only those who are granted less than 90 days and up to a maximum of 90 days will be extended.

Documents to present:

  1. Valid passport or travel document. Only machine-readable passports or travel documents will be accepted, in accordance with the guidelines established by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), and with the validity determined by these guidelines.

  2. Visa,when required in accordance with these guidelines.

  3. Proof of economic solvency, with a minimum of USD$100.00 (one hundred US dollars) per month or fraction of a month of legal stay in the country.

  4. Ticket, ticket or return ticket to the country of origin or continuation of the trip, or the navigation plan showing the port of destination.

  5. No impediment to entry into the national territory.
